PlanChest 2 Word
PlanChest 2 Word allows users to import information from your PlanChest database into MS Word.
Key features
Users can see and use PlanChest contact data at all times. They do not need to have your PlanChest database open and, indeed, they need not be aware of its existence.
Savant provides both a quick way to view contact data independant of all other applications and a method to populate merge fields in a Word document with data from your PlanChest database.
How do I use Savant?

Savant is a simple Visual Basic executable file which is installed on every PC. Some users prefer to open the file from a desktop icon, others prefer to add the program to the Start Menu and have Savant always available in the task bar.
To view contact data at all times
'Pop-up' the Savant window and you can navigate in each of the yellow boxes to search for information.
Click 'More >>' to see additional information about each contact.
To merge PlanChest database information into a Word document
When we supply PlanChest 2 Word we provide a list of Merge Field Names which must be used in Word templates intended to work with the Savant data wizard.
You then create your own Word templates (*.dot files) using these Merge Field Names.
In Word, select File > New > and open one of these templates to create a new Word document. Open Savant, navigate to the appropriate information, and click 'Apply'. Savant will populate the merge fields in the Word document with information from your PlanChest database. You may then continue to complete the Word document in the normal way.
