Form Help - Drawing History (V6)

This form provides similar information to the Drawings form but with one crucial difference - the list view displays EVERY revision of EVERY drawing. Note for V5 users: This Form is unchanged in V6.

About the Drawing History Form

  • The Drawing History Form displays different information when you toggle between 'My Company' and any other Project Company. For more information on the concept of 'My Company' refer to the Configuration Table Company Settings.

  • You cannot add or delete Drawings in the Drawings History Form. This must be done using the Drawings form.

  • In the 'Current' column, PlanChest displays three 'tick-box' symbols. These cannot be edited on this Form. They can only be edited in the Revisions Footer of the Drawings Form:

    Planned: This particular revision of the Drawing has no information in the Revisions Footer of the Drawings Form. Note that the 'grey' tick-box symbol does not appear in the Revisions Footer.

    Current: This particular revision of the Drawing is ticked as current in the Revisions Footer of the Drawings Form, displaying a symbol similar to the one shown on this Form.

    Superceded: This particular revision of the Drawing is not ticked as current in the Revisions Footer of the Drawings Form, displaying a symbol similar to the one shown on this Form.

  • For each selected Project Company you are offered, in the grey banner at the head of the form, five  Display:  options based on the three 'tick-box' symbols explained above. The default display option is set to 'All'.

  • You cannot edit fields with a grey background. This must be done using the Drawings form.

  • You can only edit fields with a white background. This is the same information that appears in the Revisions Footer of the Drawings Form and may be edited on either Form.

Using the Drawing History Form

'My Company' Drawings

  • The most likely use of this Form will be to produce a Filtered Report using one of the  Display:  options described above, e.g. all 'Current' drawings, or all 'Planned' drawings.

Other Project Company Drawings

  • For members of the Design Team, this Form is most useful for managing the sub-contractor drawing approval process. The most likely use of this Form will be to produce a Filtered Report based on specific filter criteria, such as:

    • All 'Current' drawings at Comment Status 'A'.

    • All drawings returned on a particular date.

    • All drawings awaiting comments from the Structural Engineer.

    • ... and many more.
